Concrete Testing at BBC White City

Following the sale of property assets by the BBC last year, and its move to New Broadcasting House, the iconic Television Centre at White City is undergoing a £1.5billion redevelopment that will see the former broadcaster’s headquarters converted into high-end apartments and a chic West London Hotel.

The development is a part of an ambitious £8billion regeneration project by Hammersmith and Fulham Council that will transform the largely commercial area into a modern residential neighbourhood; featuring over 6,000 new homes, shops, restaurants and an office hub for media firms.

Work began in November 2015, with Keltbray Piling contracted to provide foundation services. Keltbray Piling is a part of the Keltbray Group, an award-winning construction company that employs around 1,000 in the UK.

Since groundworks began, CET have been on-site providing essential concrete testing services; ensuring quality control over the foundation works. A month into the contract, we doubled the number of technicians on site in response to an increase in the volume of concrete being poured.

Although this project is still ongoing, the partnership between Keltbray and CET has developed and we have been commissioned to supply technical support at a second site at Elephant and Castle.

CET provides a comprehensive range of field testing services across the UK. Our expertise in concrete testing includes: sampling fresh concrete, manufacturing of cubes beams and cylinders, analysis of workability and air content and the cutting of core specimens.
